Of custom and unusual size and format, this west Persian village carpet presents a warm madder red abrashed field with a central column of three full or partial octagrams, two-layer, openwork floral medallions, embedded in a single level vinery with accent rosettes and palmettes. Good, strong drawing. Mid-blue border with reversing petal palmettes. Straw-ochre accents. Medium-coarse weave, cotton foundation.
