Vintage Pictoral Karabagh Rug

This abrashed red-ground Caucasian Karabagh shows vignettes of three saddled horses pacing right, above three ladies in wide skirts and, below, two alert spaniels and a central blue cat. The animals are all taken from printed illustrations as is the general semi-antique Karabagh practice. Black border of abstract flowers and green leaves. Wool foundation, medium coarse weave, horizontal format, for the pet-lover’s wall.
