The ‘fish’ leaves are here bent into true fish hooks, all the better to snag the rosettes in this closely drawn version of the classic Herati pattern, all on the slate blue-grey field, within a dark brown sideways palmette border (see rug # 22392 for another colorway) on this small village rug from Sultanabad in western Persia.
