Antique Persian Bidjar Large Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The muted sage-grey to pale blue-grey field displays five rows of turtle-shaped palmettes in coral-red, dusty rose, pale gold, olive, ivory, and soft brown, with petal palmettes between them, separated by four rows of smaller, loosely drawn palmettes. The strip-style ecru-to-warm-ivory main border features strapwork-outline palmettes alternating with petal palmettes in coral, rust, olive, taupe, and pale gold.
