Antique Persian Malayer Carpet

An antique Persian Malayer carpet. Here we have a full colored Malayer long rug with the classic allover Persian small scale Herati pattern on a nearly black ground with a rich red border deploying colourful schematic turtle palmettes. Malayers are woven in a town to the east of Hamadan and partake of both urban and rural characteristics.
