Antique Persian Malayer Carpet

An antique Persian Malayer rug from the early 20th century. The slate and brown field is very closely covered by a particularly dense 'Herati' allover pattern in ivory and dark brown while an ivory ‘dragon vine’ border frames the whole of this well-drawn west Persian town carpet. The densely packed pattern is actually quite calming and very easy to design around.
