An antique Persian Malayer rug. Malayer or Hamadan village rug, this unusual piece fills its ivory field with tiny pentagonal flowers. Other tiny flowers are aligned in columns on the two red cartouches in the dark blue cartouche-shaped subfield which has its own slightly larger scale geometric flower pattern. This is a charming rural rug with a permanent spring garden in bloom.
