An antique Persian Malayer rug. The colorful serrated, nested and arrowhead pendanted medallion is centered by four similar partials extending in from the corners on the abrashed brown field.  This pattern could easily be repeated to create a runner or long rug, and it has been. A narrow goldenrod main border shows a simple vine and flower pattern. Is this a one-rug sampler or a weaver’s exercise?
