An antique Persian Malayer rug. These vertically asymmetric west Persian villages scatter has a graphite subfield with a large “head” enclosing a red-brown eccentric, contoured medallion with an internal scatter of hexagons, rosettes, floriated botehs, and small flowers, all on the similarly patterned light brown ground with corner botehs. An unusual rug with an almost prayer rug layout. Unique design.
