An antique Persian Mashad carpet. The rust field displays a strong, bilaterally symmetric arabesque pattern with prominent botehs and brown accent points. Pairs of powerful serrated edge lancet leaves locate the central vertical line.  Finger petal palmettes occupy the main border, but the Sienna minor border botehs and the bitonal barber pole guard lines are design standouts in the frame.
