Antique Persian Tabriz Hagi Jalili Rug

An antique Persian Tabriz Hagi Jalili rug. A cusped lozenge medallion floats on the pleasantly abrashed sky blue field set within sand corners with rose patterns.  Back-to-back botehs make up the pendants. Antique Tabriz medallion mats are actually quite rare and this one is particularly well done. It dates from the late 19^th century, a period taken as the high point of Tabriz weaving.
