An antique Persian Sarouk Fereghan rug. The markedly abrashed slate to brownfield shows an angular millefleurs pattern overlaid with an irregularly scalloped ivory ogival pendanted medallion with a yellow sub- medallion. As usual, the corner quarters are en suite. The main light grey border displays a rosette and angular twisted vine. This west Persian scatter may originate in Josan village between the Malayer and Sarouk weaving areas.
