An antique Persian Tabriz Round Rug. Round rugs are woven on rectangular looms and are often made as table covers rather than as floor rugs. The navy field of this closely knotted NW Persian workshop rug is centered on a middle blue medallion surrounded by green split leaves, Large recurving ivory serrated leaves run around the edge of the field inside a light red circle. A progressive flower design adorns the ivory border.
