Antique Persian Tabriz Throw Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The ‘bookcover’ layout, with an open rust field in the Hajji Jalili manner, centers a dark blue pendanted medallion with flowers, leaves, and an octagram center. The extended corners echo the medallion. A strong abrash runs across the lower field and into the adjacent main border. This blue border features rosettes and tilted profile palmettes.
