This very rare antique west Turkish piece shows a rust, three mihrab pattern with each field filled with rosettes, and all topped with pale blue spandrels with floral and lambrequin designs. Straw border between and around all panels with an ivory trapezoidal meander and dragon-head blossoms. Originally for mosque use as a multiple person prayer rug. Coarse weave, wool foundation.
