Antique Afghan Beshir Carpet

An antique Afghan Beshir carpet. A rustic, geometric Turkoman version of the Herati design is anchored by a central serrated octagon and further pinned in place by lesser nested octagons along the field sides. The beige to tan allover pattern almost completely covers the dark brown ground. A pattern of dark brown open squares fills the main border of this tribal Uzbekistan kellegi.
