Vintage Caucasian Square Accent Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. Although of relatively recent vintage, this square scatter rug faithfully continues a long tradition. Its warm tan-to-camel field displays an offset, half-drop allover pattern of characteristic hooked guls in rust red, coral, dark brown, near-black, ivory, muted blue, pale green, and ochre. The dark brown, strip-style main border features a Chi-Chi pattern of rosettes alternating with diagonal bars. The pale beige minor borders display the characteristic heart- or bud-like motifs.
