Antique Caucasian Shirvan Accent Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. Hundreds of quadrupeds, peacocks, and other birds face in both directions across the sandy bone field, with still smaller birds and geometric devices filling the spaces. The straw outer border shows, on three sides, a flip-flop vine, while the red main border features paired V-shaped leaves and other abstract motifs on a black chain, with several tiny birds in attendance.
