Vintage Persian Malayer Rug

A vitnage Persian Malayer rug. The umber field displays a giant scale tall lozenge pattern with roughly rendered leaves and palmettes, along with ivory pinched squares radiating four arrows. The boldly overscale design looks as if it were taken from a much larger rug and adapted, without sizing, to this long west Persian rustic scatter.
