An antique Persian Malayer rug. This classic, well-woven Mazlagan scatter from the Greater Hamadan/Malayer weaving district has an open sandy beige field edged in the characteristic lightning bolts. A charcoal hexagon and rosette lattice occupies the center of the ashik-pendanted medallion and rows of little botehs fill the charcoal corners. The reversing palmette ivory border is rendered in the standard Mazlagan manner.
