Vintage Central Asian Turkoman Carpet

A vintage Central Asian Turkoman carpet from the mid-20th century. The dark red wine ground supports a diagonal lattice array of stepped, flattened lozengoid Turkmen-style guls (flowers) in old ivory with red and brown details. The old ivory border features dark brown and red fat hexafoil rosettes. A striking carpet of tribal origin.
