Vintage Persian Afshar Rug

A vintage Persian Afshar rug. Roughly in the same style as rug # 27198, this SE Persian tribal scatter adds a central lozenge rust sub-medallion while omitting the sawtooth edges to the encompassing, stepped slate medallion. The corner flowers spring from vases, the pendants are more smoothly curved and rust appears on the medallion and the straw field as a major accent tone. The cream main border shows a characteristic herringbone bud progression.
