Antique Persian Lavar Kerman Carpet

An antique Persian Lavar Kerman carpet. There are actually dark Kermans and here is a rare one with a perfectly balanced, strong semi-allover pattern of split arabesques, palmettes and leafy vines on a rich charcoal ground.  The rosette center is definitely secondary. The red main palmette border barely contains the main action. The bold tonality and movement design make it the focus of any room.
