Vintage Persian Gabbeh Pictorial Rug

Two bright orange confronting, standing lions are the sole decorations on the subtly abrashed red field. A black border of polychrome palmettes and bent bracket leaves makes a fine frame. The lions look more like pet dogs in their wide-eyed efforts to charm the beholder. The contrast of bright orange and red is particularly attractive in this vintage rug.
