A vintage Persian Hamadan Modern Rug. The abrashed taupe-brown field is divided vertically into two halves by a chain of beige ‘skeletons’. At each side is a dense allover array of tiny, stylized bent leaves enclosing mostly umber dots. White cotton highlights appear in field and border. The minor borders show botehs in hexagons while the main taupe border features inebriated turtle palmettes or white or dark blue lozenges. Bits of crisp light blue highlight the motives.
