Vintage Persian Joshegan Rug

A vintage Persian Joshegan rug. No medallion, no corners, but numerous characteristic Joshegan lozenge-shaped floral arrays on the rust field of this central Persian well-woven city carpet.  Accent tones include cream, orange sherbet, dark brown, pale powder blue-grey, and goldenrod. The ivory border is also diagnostic with its squared-off palmettes and stiff recurved connecting leaves.
