A vintage Persian Karajeh rug. The characteristic octogramme and hooked hexagon Karaja medallions are surrounded by a dense scatter fill with geometric leaves, stems, and flowers on a nearly obscured buff ground. This northwest Persian village scatters also displays rosettes and stiff stems bearing round berry-buds on the slate main border which has been popular for nearly two centuries in the greater Heriz weaving district.
