Vintage Persian Kashan Pictorial Square Rug

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. In this small, borderless scatter, a partial image of Scherazade’s face peeks out from beneath a large, arabesque-patterned turban, accompanied by the similarly named rug shop and its location in Firenze (Florence). The design and lettering are rendered in deep burgundy to crimson red against a pale golden-beige to warm-cream ground.
