A vintage Persian Mahal rug. Possibly a bag face given its format, this totally abstract village ruglet shows two-tone color lines in an overall rectangular chessboard pattern in lemon yellow, light blue, sand, red and goldenrod. At one end the stripes are continuous and monochrome. Many of the small elements are speckled. Blue at the bottom, yellow at the top. Just right size for a cushion and totally modern in drawing.
