A vintage Persian Malayer rug. An ivory boteh and undulating, faceted vine border in the Serabend style frames a well-abrashed brownfield patterned in the chunky Heriz manner with long, straight sawtooth leaves, geometric palmettes, and a central buff rosette. Stiff horizontal and oblique vines hold it all together. This is a very rustic scatter from a usually urbane weaving region.
