Vintage Persian Malayer Runner

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The well-abrashed brown-to-taupe-to-grey-brown field shows a repeating, complex allover pattern of jagged bent leaves, color sampler squares, winged octagons, and small medallions. A version of this pattern is frequently seen on scatter-size Malayers. The beige main border features a trapezoidal meander and reversing fan palmettes.
