Vintage Persian Shiraz Carpet

A vintage Persian Shiraz carpet. A brown central pole medallion of four attached diamonds, each centering a symmetrized turtle palmette, is set on a dove grey sub-field intensely covered with a multitude of spring flowers and set on a brown field filled with little peacocks in both corners and along the sides. This SW Persian tribal carpet, woven in the vicinity of Shiraz city, features more peacocks in the narrow central border.
