A vintage Persian Shiraz rug. Probably the work of settled Qashqai tribes folk in Fars Province, SW Persia, this rustic scatter has a strongly abrashed teal to deep grey-green to green sub-field centered on an large ivory volute rosette with four similar rosettes in the brownish-red field corners. Flowers and birds appear throughout except in the navy border with its lozenge in vinery octagon pattern.
