Vintage Persian Tabriz Carpet

A semi-antique Persian Tabriz carpet. The ivory spandrels join at the field ends to frame a red-brown field and are partially en suite with a pendant scalloped ivory medallion. The decorative scheme resembles Kashan rugs of the circa 1900 period, but this carpet is larger and more delicately detailed. Fork-like fringe elements in the field corners and medallion are particularly notable.
