Vintage Persian Tabriz Carpet

A vintage Persian Tabriz carpet. Two levels of forked arabesques and two of leafy vinery combine to make this relatively modern Tabriz carpet a fine example of a precise drawing with forms defined and shaped by the forked arabesques and complexly curved tendrils on the ivory field. Three layers of arabesques and vines define the open shapes in the slate main border. This finely woven carpet is an excellent example of elaborate craftsmanship by an accomplished workshop.
