The slightly abrashed burgundy field features two pole medallions, each consisting of three interconnected, stepped green hexagons, with cream or black hooked diamonds uniformly arranged within. The simplicity of the field enhances the dramatic effect of the two-column pattern. A narrow black-brown border with rosettes frames the design. Kars carpets have only recently emerged on the market, representing a previously unknown village carpet tradition.
