Vintage Turkish Anatolian Gallery Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. This large kellegi (long rug/carpet) displays a red field with a near-pole medallion composed of three trapezoidally flanged elements, each with central cartouches that are either plain red or filled with sub-medallions of two serrated lozenges. An inner pale yellow border is followed by a central pale blue stripe with reversing botehs, and an outermost beige band with a faceted meander.
