A vintage Turkish Anatolian Namad carpet. Namads or felt rugs are made all over the rug belt by tribal and village artisans from lower than rug grade wool from local flocks. The pattern is made by inlaying colored sections onto a larger felt ground. This bitonal namad has a four column connected lozenge pattern on red and black grounds. They are employed as insulation and padding beneath kilim or pile rugs by the rural folk.
