Vintage Turkish Art Deco Throw Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The old-gold field displays an offset pattern of triple-dot yes within eyes, rendered in the classic Ottoman çintamani style. This ancient motif traces back to the Central Asian origins of the Turks and appears on many fine Ottoman textiles of the sixteenth century. A very narrow, plain green border completes the piece.
