This Indo-Tabriz/Kerman carpet features a dark slate-grey to charcoal-brown field with a muted green cast, displaying a well-rendered “Vase Carpet” design with a vase, tilted palmettes set within geometric reserves, millefleurs background scattering, and a discreet large-scale vinery lattice. The design is rendered in ivory, ecru, burgundy, aubergine, muted coral, salmon, taupe, olive, and soft green. The ivory-to-warm-ecru main border, derived from Safavid-period designs, features palmettes and strapwork in burgundy, brown, coral, and muted green.
