An antique Persian Bidjar rug. A stepped yellow lozenge medallion is finished by two enormous anchor pendants on the warm brown subfield with a dissolved Herati pattern. The embracing ivory field displays more broken Herati elements and a version of the double bud, flower and vine design usually appearing in borders. This is a village Bidjar-area scatter, but it still possesses all the famed sturdiness and wearability of the town carpets.
