An antique Persian Heriz carpet. This magnificent early 20th century NW Persian village extra-large carpet has a saturated natural dye palette including blood red, electric blue, ivory and green. The step-pointed subfield is contained by ivory corners displaying fine selections of semi-geometric leaves. The light blue oval central medallion is especially striking. The border displays the popular bent leaf and rosette pattern against a dotted navy ground. This mint condition carpet is a product of one of the best Heriz workshops of the period.
