This rug features a wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. While all Bidjars are Kurdish, this wide kenare (runner) was woven in a rustic village near Bidjar town. The corduroy-textured teal field displays a compressed allover Herati design, accented in brick, old gold, and ecru. The main border features reversing fan palmettes. This is an unusual format for a durable, impervious rug.
