An antique Persian Lavar Kerman rug from the late 19th century. This is a genuine pre-1900 antique Lavar Kerman with an eccentric design of an eight-point stellate medallion on a sandy field, with corner roundels and escutcheons with boteh (paisley). The main border is equally quirky with cartouches and botehs. Kerman rugs are like no other Persian carpet types and this individuality goes back to the 17th century. They are the creations of true artists, designers, and weavers.
