An antique Persian Sultanabad carpet. This magnificent royal blue village carpet from western Persia is ornamented by an allover palmette, rosette and vine arabesque, and the frame is in a red rosette and split leaf bracket design. Multi-blossom floral sprays are horizontally set along the sides of the field. The pattern is just small enough to call it a ‘Mahal’ or big enough for it to be a ‘Sultanabad’. Take your pick. The colors are great.
