Antique Persian Tabriz Oversize Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The vertically asymmetric, faded dusty-rose to muted mauve-burgundy field displays two large pendants descending from arabesque-filled reserves above, while below are lobed palmettes, flower heads, curving vinery, a jewelry-like pendant, and rosettes set within arabesques, all rendered in ecru, warm ivory, pale gold, taupe, and soft brown. The strip-style dusty-rose to mauve main border is densely packed with arabesques and shield-shaped palmettes in ecru, beige, pale gold, and brown.
