An antique Persian Tabriz rug. On an ivory field, a one-way floral pattern has been adapted from 19th century Persian silk loom textiles. This design appears in Kurdistan and Azerbaijan in northwest Persia, and even on Turkmen rugs from Central Asia. The white ground is always to be preferred. The red border is in the Senneh manner with an alternation of rosettes and schematic leaves.
