Vintage Gabbeh Pictorial Rug

An antique  Persian Gabbeh Pictorial rug. Noah’s ark rests in the background while he inspects his menagerie of animals and birds along a stream and small lake. Lions, tigers, leopards, goats and sheep drink and wander in the landscape with a recumbent shepherd, while colorful fowl fly above. The inscription describes the scene and the rug is dated 1345 (1925 or 1967 depending on the calendar). A later date seems more likely.
