Vintage Persian Afshar Accent Rug

This large dozar (scatter rug) shows a dark slate smooth sided cartouche with numerous birds and animals (probably goats or sheep), on a straw-buff subfield, enclosed by a lighter slate field decorated with more birds and animals, Left and right halves of the field are not similar, indicating the presence of two distinct weavers. White cotton details. Beige/ecru main border with a dark brown flowering herringbone motif. Tribal scatter on cotton with a medium weave, in good condition.
