Wool warp-faced weave. This polychrome six-panel carpet or cover features vertical stripes in shades of off-white, yellow, pale blue, light blue, and black. Upon closer inspection, a small chessboard pattern emerges, created by the weaving technique. These colorful pieces are often attributed to the Shah Savan tribes of northwest Azerbaijan. A striking example of rustic craftsmanship.
